Challenge Shield

Stone successfully retained the Challenge Shield despite a strong challenge from the Stafford BC team.
This friendly has been played for more years than anyone can remember with a unique format. With home and away legs consisting of 10 doubles games, each played to 15up. Then six scores cards are picked at random to decide the winners of the challenge.
We won 6 games at Stafford, scoring 131 to 109 and then 8 games on our green, scoring 138 to 98.

The random draw also went our way with overall scores of 152 to 131

The Shield was presented by Stafford’s President, Peter, to Mary who was standing in while our President, Derek, enjoyed a holiday.
