Charity Day
A rare fine day, weather-wise, and a good turnout for Charity Day bowling made for a successful end to the outdoor bowling season for 2024. Ten teams competed for the kudos of winning and the prize of a Mars bar each!
Peter Hancock's team comprising of Gerald Warburton, Helen Scott and Bill Mason squeezed a win from a closely contested competition,
The Charity raffle raised a terrific £230.00 which brings the fund (not yet totalled) to the region of £1000.00, The cheque will be presented to the Oak Tree Farm project in the near future.
A fine buffet meal was enjoyed by all afterwards and a tribute was paid by our current Chairman David Crosby to Trevor Mardling who for so many years served as Chairman of our club and who sadly passed away this year.
My thanks to all those who have supported me, personally, and both of my charities during my term of presidency and for all the help that has been so forthcoming from the Committee and the membership during that time.
