Members’ & Edwards’ Cup
Congratulations to Mike B & Rob J who won the Members’ & Edwards’ Cup this year in after a fantastic final against Hugh G & John T.
Our first Internal competition of the year, the Member’s & Edwards’ Cup is a drawn doubles contest.
This year 24 members competed for the Cup and every pair won at least one game in the group stages of competition. with some very close matches. The group winners were joined by the best second place finish in the semi-finals. It was all very close and Pat & Mary narrowly missed out on a place by just a couple of chalks. Leaving Mike & Rob facing Norman & Les AND John T & Hugh playing Ken & Colin.
The final was a a great game to finish the afternoon which was enjoyed by players and spectators alike. The final end saw four changes to the lead, with one wood after another coming in to creep past the opponents and the final woods, in turn, each nudged another wood or the jack to take the lead back.
After a challenging few weeks, it was lovely to see everyone enjoying the bowling, some lovely food and each others company.
